The celebration of Oktoberfest in Germany is dated way back 1900’s, it is the public declaration and celebration of the crown prince Luitpold I and princess Theresa of Bavaria. The known celebration was consisted by horse race, food and beers and the party happened somewhere in a meadow at Munich. In Cincinnati, close to 700,000 people jam the streets of “Zinzinnati” during late September, jostling to music from seven large entertainment stages, while dozens of food vendors serve bratwurst, sauerkraut and thousands of gallons of beer.

Now, Germany is celebrating the Oktoberfest yearly, the month long celebration starts at September and ends in the first week of October where the people of Germany really drink a lot of beers this season. Every community in Germany is vying for the name greatest and largest Oktoberfest every year. The city of Munich and Cincinnati in Germany are fighting for this name; almost 1 million to 10 million pints of beer are being served by the local bars to its customers. Surely beer lovers and party animals with a lot of space inside their stomach would be satisfied by Germany’s Oktoberfest treats.

Not mentioning the beers, people at Germany also serve 750,000 sausages to the people. What is not to love in Germany in this season? Here in Germany, beer is valuable in every German’s life, especially the beer makers. The Oktoberfest is not only about the tradition but also it is about the beer. The beer in Germany is said to follow rules in order to be served. It is said to have amber-gold lager, robust at 5.2 to 6 percent alcohol by volume (ABV), bottom-fermented and laagered for at least a month, with pronounced malt flavors from Vienna malts, usually accented by the German noble hops such as Hallertau and Tettnang.

An Oktoberfest is brewed very much like the reddish-amber Marzen beer that was served at the Crown Prince’s wedding in 1810. Before the revolution in brewing caused by refrigeration, Marzen beers were brewed in March, lagered or cold-stored in caves for 10-12 weeks, and ready to drink by the late summer or early fall. Truly these kinds of beer are so special that Germans value their beer so much.

Every street in Munich, Germany where you can find a bar or a meadow can hold the events like beer drinking contest like the coin toss, fastest time to finish a beer and fastest man to eat the German sausage. These are the small events in every street where you can challenge your will in how strong and how many your stomach can handle.

Not only in Germany, but the Germans who migrated to North America also continued the tradition of Oktoberfest and now is also fighting for the largest Oktoberfest in America. The similar Oktoberfest is also held in Georgia, Panama and Texas. Their Oktoberfest might be a little different from the Oktoberfest in Germany but don’t worry because they also follow the traditional beer and they also have the pipe bag players. The only thing that is missing is the German original sausage. Aside from that you won’t have to worry about anything especially the Oktoberfest in North America can be extended till spring.

Germany really is a great country, don’t forget to try and visit Germany especially in Oktoberfest months you surely won’t regret it.

Everyone has their own favorite place to visit and I have mine. You can decide to agree or disagree with me, but here are my choices for the top 10 cities to visit in Europe.

Top 10 cities to visit in Europe 1: Milan, Italy

Milan, Italy is considered as one of the world’s fashion and design capitals. It’s the most modern of all of Italy’s cities while still keeping most of its history intact. Here’s a tip: save on travel and splurge on shopping. This is why Milan is one of my top 10 cities to visit in Europe.

Top 10 cities to visit in Europe 2: Brussels, Belgium

Brussels is the capital city of Belgium and also considered to be the capital of the European Union. Don’t worry about being surrounded by international diplomats though. The city has vibrant areas filled with restaurants and bars and beautiful parks. The city also happens to be right in the heart of Europe so you can easily go to other European hot spots from here. This is why this is in my top 10 cities to visit in Europe.

Top 10 cities to visit in Europe 3: Berlin, Germany

Berlin remembers its colourful past with monuments and museums that are definitely worth seeing. The city is the heart of Germany and is a wonderful and exciting city to visit. There are trendy restaurants, shops, bars and boutiques. It also has great transportation which makes getting around easy. The festivals are also a key factor in being chosen as one of my top 10 cities to visit in Europe.

Top 10 cities to visit in Europe 4: Munich, Germany

Munich is the largest city in Germany and it has a fabulous culture. The city is historical and grand and features some of the best museums in Germany. There’s great architecture, culture, fund clubs and the famous Oktoberfest beer celebration. Why wouldn’t Munich be in the top 10 cities to visit in Europe?

Top 10 cities to visit in Europe 5: Istanbul, Turkey

If you want to feel intrigue when you arrive at a city, visit Istanbul. The city is shrouded in history, layered in religion and wrapped up in theater. There’s a rich culture to immerse yourself in. And that’s enough for me to name Istanbul as one of my top 10 cities to visit in Europe.

Top 10 cities to visit in Europe 6: Manchester, England

Manchester, England has a classy culture with a historic vibe. It’s never short of partygoers. They’ve got a great soccer team and tons of music venues to have a great time at. What else could you want in one of the top 10 cities to visit in Europe?

Top 10 cities to visit in Europe 7: Athens, Greece

Athens has a lot to offer with its many old and beautiful buildings and ruins that date back to BC. It’s rich in history and culture too. Why wouldn’t the birthplace of modern civilization be in the top 10 cities to visit in Europe?

Top 10 cities to visit in Europe 8: Seville, Spain

Seville lures tourists with its colors and vibrant nature. It’s the cultural and financial center for Spain. With a fascinating history, sights and attractions that will blow you away, and the wonderful coastline, Seville makes it into the top 10 cities to visit in Europe easily.

Top 10 cities to visit in Europe 9: Edinburgh, Scotland

Edinburgh is built on history, romance and culture. It’s a great place to visit if you’re looking for history, festivals and a great nightlife. From visiting Edinburgh Castle to experiencing a rugby match, this city left an impression that made me list it in the top 10 cities to visit in Europe.

Top 10 cities to visit in Europe 10: Marseille, France

Forget Paris for a moment and think of Marseille. It’s one of the older cities in Europe and is listed as a major center of art and history. The city is fashionable in different aspects without forgetting its rich history. Marseille offers great bars and fun around every corner. This is the final entry to my top 10 cities to visit in Europe.

What’s on your list?

Traveling has been quite a hobby for me now, thanks to my super traveler aunt who by the way inspired me to do put into journal my travels. So here I am, making one with my travel to Berlin, Germany.

Berlin has been the capital city of Germany and is one of the constituent states of the Federal Republic of Germany. Berlin is also the largest city in Germany which cradles approximately 4.2 million of Germany’s population. Germany is best known with its historical association as the German capital, for its vigorous nightlife, for its many cafes, clubs and bars, majestic museums, palaces and other sites of historic interest. Contrary to what many believe, Berlin, Germany is also a favorite to many modern and high-class shopping areas filled with department stores, small boutiques that offer the latest in European trend and fashion. Now I know where to spend Euros! Germany is definitely the place to be!

Being a great fan of the world wars, it occur to me that in the final years of World War II, Germany has been badly damaged which made Berlin’s architecture quite varied amongst many. Despite this, Berlin has reconstructed itself with great extent that they made it possible to exhibit the different historic periods in a short span of time within the compactness of the city center from a few surviving medieval buildings near Alexander Platz, to the ultramodern glass and steel structures at Potsdamer Platz.

Talking about nightlife, being the party junkie that I am, I should know that there is no city in Germany that parties harder than Berlin. The nightlife of most cities in Germany is tame and lame and just couldn’t be compared to Berlin’s nightlife. Great clubs and dace parlors can be found everywhere just about everywhere in Germany; you just got to have the eye for it. The most popular hotspots in Berlin, Germany aren’t so hard to find especially when there are so many people you could ask around. The usual good places to go in Germany is in the center of Berlin –Mitte, Prenzlauer Berg and Kreuzberg, but I must tell you though that the eastern part of the city has a bigger nightlife going on. Germany’s Berlin also hosted the “Love Parade” an outdoor parade that attracts millions of people from around the world to dance to techno and electronic music and invade Berlin, Germany’s streets at night.

Germany also cradles one of the greenest cities in Europe since over 60% of Berlin’s surface area is either a park or a river. It even outnumbered Venice with its number of bridges.

Berlin has been the pride of Germany for its amazing sights, although it is not as centralized or small as other European cities. By just simply strolling along the one of hundreds of gorgeous streets with cafes or just sipping tea at a beach bar along one of Berlin’s many rivers is pleasurable enough. Sometimes, you can enjoy Germany even without glancing into its famous landmarks. There are still a lot to see in Germany and Berlin has been a lovely start.

Regardless of what your status in life is, there’s likely to be a city in Europe that would fit the lifestyle you live or would want to live. If you want to mingle with other singles, whether you’re gay, lesbian, a young one, divorcee, retiree or whatnot, try taking a vacation to any of these hotspots in Europe which I think are the top European cities for singles.

I think Amsterdam is one of the top European cities for singles. It’s a city rich in culture, it has a booming nightlife and the city itself is pretty open-minded. Gay singles can meet up during Amsterdam’s annual LGBT film festival to meet culturally aware film enthusiasts. Amsterdam is also a popular spot because of its marijuana cafes and being known for its legal red light district. That easily makes it one of the top European cities for singles.

For the younger generation of singles, the best places to visit are always the ones with the best parties. So why not visit Ibiza? It’s one of the top European cities for singles for being internationally known as the party island off the coast of Spain. You can enjoy a world of clubbing, lounging on the beach and having an adventure of a lifetime.

If you’re someone who’s trying to gain some personal fulfilment or discovery, then London is the place for you. It may not be as overtly PDA as cities like Paris or Rome but history buffs, art enthusiasts, theater patrons, food gurus, bookworms and a whole load of other people can benefit from this capital rich in culture while still in the middle of the busy streets of London.

If you’re a single who’s looking to just let go of all inhibitions, then I’ve got a few top European cities for singles on my list for you. Namely, these are the cities that have nude beaches where you can stare at any hot guy or girl without being called a pervert. There’s Red Beach on Crete, Paradise Beach on Mykonos, Greece, Leucate Plage in France and Costa Natura in Spain.

But if you’re more like the single who wants to get a vacation away from all the wild parties and meet someone stable and traditional, here are my choice of top European cities for singles. Vatican City can easily take you away from the nightlife and get immersed in the religious architecture, gardens, historical arts and monuments. Dublin, Ireland may have some rowdy crowds during parades and festivals but there are also plenty of opportunities for shopping, going to the cinema, visiting historical monuments and museums or just relaxing in one of the city’s many parks.

Of course, these are just some of my choices for top European cities for singles. I haven’t visited all the cities yet so I don’t know if there’s something better than the choices that I made. Do you have any other ideas as to what the top European cities for singles are?
